Editorial Reviews

The convenience of using cordless tools can be compromised if you're always standing around waiting for the batteries to recharge. To get you up and running quicker, with less down time, Black & Decker has developed the FSMVC 9.6-Volt to 18-Volt Fast Charger. This cleverly designed plug-in charger accepts a wide range of nicad batteries, including 9.6, 12, 14.4, and 18-volt packs. And it will recharge a battery in less than 90 minutes, as compared to the average three-hour recharge time of the chargers that came with the tools. The FSMVC 9.6-Volt to 18-Volt Fast Charger accepts all Black & Decker and Firestorm spring-loaded (slide-in) type batteries.

perfect (5.0)

The product is what I was looking for, thank you.

works great!!!

Charger is great (5.0)

This is a big improvement over the charger which comes with the tools. You can tell when the battery is fully charged.

Awesome Charger (5.0)

I now own all 3 types of charger, this being my latest purchase.
The slide on type that comes with the units, referred to as "dumb" chargers, tend to shorten the battery life.
The dual chargers, although keep the battery charged with a trickle, don't seem to charge fast.
This one charged all of my batteries fast and it's nice to see when it is charged.

The 1st time we charged our batteries, all of them took longer to charge. But the second time, the charge was within the 1 1/2 hours advertised and the batteries lasted a long time.
We have all of the different types of 18v batteries.. old ones right through to 2 new Firestorm extended batteries.
We also have a re-built one with 2200mah cells in it and this charger is a good match for it. We were able to trim the entire yard with our re-built and 2 firestorms.
Plan on buying a second one this week.

Not as good as promised (3.0)

The charger works well, but is not nearly as fast as promised. I do think it's better than the charger that comes with the weed eater and it is much faster.

Works Great! (5.0)

Charges all the batteries to full power, it seems like it may even charge better then the factory cheap charger that comes with products.
