My daughter wanted this for Christmas. She said it took less than a minute to install and that it works fine. When we were over her house recently, she showed us how it works. The sound was clean. I will get one for us this summer.

As long as you are not expecting these speakers to blow you away, you will be happy with these speakers. I grew out of wanting monster size speakers that your neighbors 2 miles away can hear many years ago. These speakers deliver good all around sound and they work flawlessly with the transmitter. So you know, I use 2 of these speakers out on the patio, but only one transmitter (so its not stereo). I think it works and sounds good. I also bought rechargeable batteries so I don't have to plug in the speakers. I find that I get roughly 15 hours on a charge at about 3/4 volume. The only thing I would change is the design. First, I have never been a fan of the downward facing speaker. It delivers good sound in all directions, but not great sound in any direction. Additionally, I personally do not like the "modern" look of the speaker. I would prefer a front facing, traditional design, but I couldn't find one like that.
I've had mine for quite a while now and have to say, I appreciate it more now, then when I first bought it!
It's a very nice piece of technology. I have had Harmon Kardon sound systems for most of my life, so I appreciate quality. For the money and what it does, this is a really nice speaker. I have used it electrically and with batteries. I've used it many times in the rain also. I have a firepit in my backyard and frequently have people over to enjoy it. The blue light at night is very appealing.
I might even buy another one, so I can have one in front yard also. Total surround!! LOL

The Brookstone wireless speaker is a great addition to our outdoor living space. The speaker is easy to set up, and the sound is very good. We usually use the AC adapter, but have also disconnected it and used battery power to listen to it at our fire pit, which is a little over 100 feet from our house. As long as we set the speaker on a table, it received the signal and performed well. It's also a great conversation piece, since everyone comments on its appearance. We are really enjoying having music wherever we go in the yard.
