The HR department keeps sending these to the office, and we all agree that even the Starbucks off the lobby has better coffee than this stuff. I haven't got anything to compare this to as far as other k-cup options, but as compared to a damn tasty drip from my coffee maker at home using Trader Joe's beans? This stuff is watery, acrid and astringent, and tastes like someone spiked my coffee with a splash of vinegar, more or less. The aroma is even off-putting, but I each morning my one-cup-a-day habit reverts because it's easily at hand and it's gotta get used up somehow... Now online searching for an alternative to recommend to HR for the next order, I can't put up with it any longer!
This was not my first K-cup order, nor was it my first Timothy's purchase. It was, however, my first Timothy's Kona order. After several days, I had thought there was something wrong with my machine, because sometimes it was taking almost twice as long to deliver a full cup. I left the house mid-cup one day and when I returned and emptied the cup down the sink, I notice A LOT of grounds and sludge in the bottom of the cup. So I made another, let it sit, same thing. I switched back to another selection, and the machine was back to normal brewing time, no muddy bottom. I tried the Timothy's again. Slow and sludge. Hmmmmmmmm. Brain connects dots. I don't know what is wrong, whether it's something to do with the size of the grounds or the k-cup itself, but it's a problem. I'm going to return it and exchange for one of the many other selections I've successfully tried.
If you enjoy your coffee black then give these k cups a try. The flavor is full, rich and bold but not too bitter. Timothys' kona blend is perfect for your "Everyday" coffee.
K-cups arrived promptly and were delicious. I would recommend these to anyone who likes a nicely balanced medium roast coffee.
I really loved the ROBUST flavor of this Kona, but my stomach wasn't able to handle it due to reflux caused by it. Luckily, I was able to trade my almost full box at the K-Cup Exchange on yahoo ( [...]), and in return get a flavor that agreed with me more.
I recommend the K-Cup Exchange site VERY highly. You can learn a lot about brewing with your Keurig there, and find cheap places to buy, and it's totally free.
