December 21, 2012: the end date of the sophisticated Long Count Calendar created by the ancient Maya in central America. Countless books and websites, magazine articles and newspaper headlines debate its meaning, with enthusiasts in two camps: those forecasting apocalypse the end of time and those who see a coming renewal, a rebirth of consciousness.
Adding fuel to the debate, some scientists see the increasing number of natural disasters in recent years as evidence of a catastrophic climax of events in 2012. How much of what we re hearing is science and how much is superstition? In this film the leading researchers, writers and scientists in the field tell us exactly what this date means to them, why it s important, and what we should expect.
Featured in the film are Graham Hancock, John Major Jenkins, Daniel Pinchbeck, Alberto Villoldo, Anthony Aveni, Robert Bauval, Jim Marrs, Walter Cruttenden, Lawrence E. Joseph, Douglas Rushkoff, John Anthony West and Benito Vegas Duran.
As someone who's been inclined towards the conventional 2012 'doomsday' thinking of the day, I really enjoyed this video. The commentaries from all the(credible)experts seemed very well balanced and each gave great contribution and insight. I particularly enjoyed the thorough explanation of why the date 12-21-2012 is chosen, and watching this video assuaged alot of my concerns and clarified the whole mysterious issue for me with the most sound research and hypotheses.
As the days go on, more and more people seem to have their minds occupied with 2012. Actually, as many sources will tell you, the "End of the World" has occupied the thoughts and teachings of humans since civilization began. I enjoyed this documentary as it included a variety of sources and does what the title says: mixes science and superstition.
This is worth taking a look at, especially to expand your mind in this area. Not all cultures or beliefs revolve around 2012 being the end of the world, some just think that it's the end of an era. If you find this interesting, you may also like End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World which gets into depth about various religious beliefs around the world and throughout history about the end of the world (and gives the reader a huge sigh of relief at the number of these beliefs that have turned out completely wrong).
All in all, I think that if you are concerned in any way about 2012, this documentary will ease your mind a bit. Above all else, keep this in mind: There have been many predictions about the end of the world, thus far, all of them have been wrong.
Mike Saxton, Author of "7 Scorpions: Rebellion"
The information in this CD is ancient news ..., Maybe 10 years ago I would of had something different, but at this point of time science is a looooot more advanced than it is portrayed in the 2012 documentary....
Truly a worthless buy.
A great and down to earth explanation of 2012 coming phenomenon. Not for the person who cannot think and connect.
Make your own conclusions because like most predictions they are subject to interpretation
I expected a little more from this video. Instead it presented a bunch of opinions from several points of views.
