inaccurate distance (3.0)
Nice look .Great features.Pace and steps/min are only displayed while doing the activity. But I have tried the atomatic calibration 4 times in the distance that they recommend and I have NEVER gotten a correct distance after my jogs. Thinking of returning it.
Timex Ironman T5K092 fitness watch (5.0)
I wanted something I could use to estimate my mileage when I was running on unfamiliar trails. This not only gave me fairly accurate numbers (believe me, i checked on known trails), but was easy to use.
Excellent timepiece! (5.0)
I bought this watch for my wife and her marathon running, she absolutely adores it! Once we set all the calculations it's a flawless piece. We did all the measuring for walk, jog & run stride lengths and steps per minute for each as well (which is a bit painstaking taking up to 15 minutes of your time...a whole 15 minutes, geez) she never has to worry about it being off ever again...and me being rather anal I even checked distances against it on my bike, car and web, perfect! I highly recommend you do this for accuracy. Like Ron says..."set it and forget it!" Now, as to what everyone else is complaining about..."too big" I just have to say "HUH"? Have you looked at watches these days? THIS is too BIG? Something from Alice in Wonderland is too big. It does have a large face, though no bigger than my sport or designer watches, I don't know what these sporty people expect to be able to read on a smaller face while jogging & swimming. You know this is for outdoors, right, not exquisite dining at the White House? Other complaints seem to be "user error" not the watches, I don't see your reviews as helpful for or against. My wife and I highly recommend this watch for runners who want to concentrate on your run and not counting or checking your watch. She's had several pedometers in the past and they all died quickly or were inaccurate that I though I'd step it up a notch for her with this, boy did I ever. She now says she enjoys her "worry free runs".
watch band falls off (2.0)
I loved this watch. Cute and waterproof. Then, the band started to peel away from the watch. Not so cute now.
I like it! (4.0)
I like this watch. It does what it says it can do. And it's not too big and bulky to wear everyday. I did have some difficulty calibrating the watch for walking and jogging, but once I got it done, it's worked well. I'm still having fun playing with it and all the things it can do!
A real workout! (5.0)
Being a big Jillian fan, I bought the fitness ultimatum 2009 and like many others I returned it because of all the problems with the controls. When I saw a new game come out I knew I had to give it a shot and I'm not disappointed. This time around the graphics are much better (much less cartoony) and I've not had any of the problems with the game picking up my movements like the older version. The detailed instruction for the exercises is in the manual instead of within the game itself so be sure to read that first. If you are a beginner you can make your own workout and pick your own intensity, which is a plus and the game allows you to choose your own music and island location for the exercises. You can take a jog around the island and you can choose how long you want the run to be. The game is more a workout than a leisure game, but if you want to a get an excellent workout...this game is a great value!
Meh....get something else (3.0)
I agree whole heartedly with the Review NutWiiSystem left. Really calculating the results are spotty. You are doing it right, but she still berates you. At the start of each exercise, Jillian jumps right into the exercise while you are still getting situated with either putting on the Wii remote or turning the balance board the correct way. The Jenny McCarthy workout with the camera is a lot better at determining your accuracy. I'm returning my Jillian Michaels after trying our for 4 days.
Its ok.... (3.0)
description says you can use this without a wii fit board, but A LOT of the workout programs require it. Also, how sucky is it to run in place for a couple of miles?
Its great to work you know. (5.0)
I love Jillian Michaels Dvds except for the Yoga one (its not yoga to me) and the trouble zone one. 2009 Ultimatium was a disaster but the 2010 version is pretty great. The control are easy, the graphics are ten times better and you could basically keep working out. Its a lot of fun along with Wii Sports, Wii Fit Plus, and other games. Buy it cheap! Save money and a good workout on the Wii!
Great Work Out !!! (5.0)
I love this game I recently started working out and bought this game for that purpose. Julliane kicks my butt every day . It gets your heart beat up and makes you sweat . I actually sweat more from this game than I do by working out at curves ! There are so many different workout options for your body to choose from from just your abs just your upper or lower body to your entire body. It was a good purchase for me I would recommend this game for any one trying to loose weight .
Tools for improving lives (4.0)
Nearly everyone will find themselves disabled, at least to some extent, at some point in their lives. For example, I've been on crutches after an injury, and I've see advancing age limit people's activities in different ways. Technology can do a lot to widen the range of choices despite disabilities, or even to restore those abilities. Using myself as an example again, I would be legally blind in one eye, if not for the technology that made lens implants possible. Robitaille, herself a beneficiary of a cochlear implant, uses this book to describe many of the products and services available to the disabled. A complete listing would be impossible, or at least obsolete by the time it was finished. Instead, Robitaille draws samples from a wide range, describing their applicability, drawbacks, and cost. The first chapter addresses aids for visual impairments. These come in many forms, a startling number of which rely on computer technology. The next chapter covers aids for hearing impairments, like Robitaille's own caused by a childhood illness. Although Robitaille mentions a number of ways to help the hearing impaired in a sound-filled society, she also touches on the sensitive subject of deaf culture. Physical and cognitive disabilities have their own chapters, as well. We have more disabled veterans than ever returning to civilian life, ironically because personal armor and battlefield medicine now save so many who would otherwise have died. Wartime injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, represent only a few of the many kind of physical and mental challenges that people face, however, and each challenge needs a solution of its own. Communication disabilities get a chapter of their own, as well. Robitaille's final chapters cover legislative, legal, and even financial support for assistive technologies. (Early on, she notes that "[Disability] has an impact on ... financial health and well-being." Assistive technologies are often expensive.) This whirlwind tour of assistive technologies and services does little more than mention the ones that Robitaille has chosen as examples. Still, it's an eye-opening collection, and one likely to help educators, human resources managers, parents and families of the disabled, and anyone to whom "can do, done differently" becomes an important issue. -- wiredweird
A 'must' for any library catering to people with disabilities (5.0)
The Illustrated Guide to Assistive Technology and Devices: Tools and Gadgets for Living Independently is a 'must' for any library catering to people with disabilities, which includes the aging and those with low literacy. It provides a guide to a range of independent living options and offers assessments of a range of devices, from a small typewriter that enables the deaf to communicate over a phone line to tips on how the visually impaired can use the Internet. Highly recommended, its assessments of these devices points the way to greater independence and freedom - and involvement in society's latest greatest advancements.
KED (5.0)
I bought this as I gift for someone and she loves it. I also have a Wii and I recommend it highly.
Buyer Beware (1.0)
I am so disapointed. The mat is great, socks nice, sleave is good. But the battery pack fried my balance board. If I know it would do that I would nave never bought this pack! After a few days of use with the battery pack my balance board kept saying please step off and press a and i would over and over again, I tried to do all kinds of things, then I read at the nintendo site that there are many people with this same problem. The battery pack overheats and damages the balance board. Thankfully I was able to teturn my balance board and get a new one, but I will not ever again use a battery pack with it. Please be careful if you get this product.
Great Set! (5.0)
If you are looking for a good set to use for your wii fit, this is it. The yoga mat is nice, the jelly sleeve does not rip easily, and everything is just nice and sturdy! The picture really doesn't do this product justice. If you're debating it, get it! My husband was impressed with what I got! :D
Good but not great (4.0)
The rechargeable battery is great. The sleeve for the Wii Fit is great. Rest of it is not needed. Great deal overall.
great deal (5.0)
this was a great deal and very cute for women and girls. love the pink. arrived quickly. great service.
Excellent transaction very good to work with! (5.0)
This vendor did an excellent job of taking care of me with the watch I purchased. We had a few hiccups and they were deal with promptly and professionally via email. I couldn't have had a better transaction and I would definitley buy from them again.
Suunto T4C Heart Rate Monitor & Fitness Trainer (5.0)
This is a great Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). I initially got this to help with my running but ended up using this for whenever I'm doing any active exercise such as playing football/soccer, etc. I've found it to be really informative and the logs can be kept for future reference. What surprised me from reading various reviews of different HRM was the fact that a number of them require some "warming up" before accurate readings occurred. I found that when putting my HRM belt over my chest and switching the watch to read the belt, it picked up my heartbeat within seconds and accurately so. In addition to the accurate readings and logging capability it has a coach/trainer that determines a workout schedule for you in a given week. I've not yet tried it out but it seems really easy to use and rather useful. I'm not sure how the batteries last but I switch it off in between sessions to pro-long battery life. The only downside to this part is that you're not able to save logs in between sessions. A couple of things I'd like to note though are that the text next to the buttons are tiny to the point where you'd have to refer to the manual to know what you're doing initially, or if you prefer to play around with it by trial and error, can just press away. If you really want to make full use of the watch and its many features, you have to read the manual. If you're going to use the basics, stick with a lower model like t1c. This is just a small gripe as once you've used this a number of times, navigating the menus is second nature. Secondly, I find the buttons tiny and difficult to press if you're running and there's not much in terms of audio feedback (or rather not very loud) to know that you've pressed it if you're running around. I also tend to do more of my running at night so visibility of the watch and stats tends to be difficult to read, but then that's going to be the case with any HRM. The light works well enough for it's purpose. Overall I would recommend this HRM and my concerns for it are minor issues that can be overcome with regular use or using it during the day.
Useless! (1.0)
I loved the look, feel, and the features this heart rate monitor provides, and I so wanted to keep it. However, if you use it while you move your arms around other than a stationary position you will lose your HR and therefore not have an accurate picture of your workout. I replaced the batteries in both the belt and the watch, paired the belt to the watch but it continued to lose the HR if my wrist went behind my back or over my head. I even returned it and bought it from a different store hoping to correct the problem. Both watches experienced the same situation. In desperately wanting to keep it, I researched and found this to be a common problem with Suunto. I have been a long time Polar user, but HATE the look of every single one of them, so I really was looking for the same quality. Unfortunately,Suunto isn't the one. Oh and the battery dies once a month even with it shut off in between uses.
perfect HR m. (5.0)
SO I bought this watch, in need of a heart rate monitor and since I already owned a Suunto watch I thought I would love this one too. I LOVE IT! It's comfortable, it's easy to use once you figure out all the little applications, it's a good size for women. I'm still finding cool little things out about the watch. I suggest you buy the wireless PC Pod too and it will also log your RPMs if you buy a bike pod or even distance if you buy a GPS pod or foot pod. The PC pod will log all your workouts on your PC. I am about to purchase that. The coach on the watch give you the option to follow it but it does not punish you if you don't. The training effect is confusing at first but when you log your workouts it gives you a range to categorize each workout. I love this watch/ HRM and would recommend it to active women who are into gadgets.
excellent but you have to praid for function works (2.0)
this watch is excellent but mine works really bad, i bought it 3 weeks ago and never works on calories burned.. for example, I did 40 min of a hard spinning class and the watch said that I burned 30kcal at 84% average,,, poor watch... if you can buy a polar! i realized that a lot of users have severals problems with T series, pls find differents forum on the web and see them....
My husband swallowed his pride, and it worked! (5.0)
For some time now, my hubby has been having "issues" in the bedroom. He and I have been concerned and surprised since we're not very old. We didn't know what to do, and he was too embarrassed to ask a doctor about it. Anyway, I decided to purchase this book and share some things with him to see if he'd be willing to try any of them. He did, and things have improved greatly for us! I was very skeptical that a book would help, but it really has some good suggestions. Yay!
This is embarrassing... but it worked! (5.0)
I tried this book... a few days ago. Well, I feel embarrassed to say it, but I can't believe it... it worked! My spouse is more satisfied (HER words!) and I feel much more confident. Honestly, this book has increased my confidence in bed, making me feel more naturally successful. No pumps, no pills, no gadgets.. they were right!
Pretty way to monitor weather (5.0)
I had purchased another La Crosse forecast station previously and I loved the ability to know the temperature outside. When that one died, I replaced it with this one. This one has a lot more features that make it much more fun monitoring the weather while being very pretty. It has a very attractive casing making it easy to blend into most decors.
useless (1.0)
Looked like the clock was going to be ok. Then tried everything to get it to work. The outside temp would not work after every attempt that the directions sent. Needless to say,, sent it back.
Nice LaCrosse Weather Station (5.0)
We owned our first LaCrosse Wireless Weather station for 10-12 years. It finally played out and I wanted a nicer looking replacement. Found this one for a great price on Amazon.com. Very nice looking, easy to program and set up, and it works great. I hope it lasts us as long as the last unit did.
10 minute workout (4.0)
Great! This is a perfect workout for those of us who want to get fit, but can't find a lot of time to exercise.
Home fitness? (3.0)
The exercise part is fine, but there are a few things that make this a "three": Part of the exercise sequences have you swinging the ball overhead - unless one is remarkably short, it is necessary to have very high ceilings in the exercise space (not the "normal" 8 foot ceilings). The pump provided is flimsy. The ball "off gases" for about a week. All of the problems are manageable - just annoying.
