No scraping necessary! (5.0)
Fantastic product. This thing scrapes the side of the bowl as it mixes. I've already used the Beater Blade several times since I have received it and it really does cut down on prep time by a few minutes; you don't have to life the mixer to scrape the side of the bowl everytime you throw in another egg, add ingredients, etc. ...Wish I had the Beater Blade a while ago.
Makes my Kitchenaid even better (5.0)
Even though my mixer already did a fabulous job compared to my old hand-held mixer, this beater really improved it's performance. The butter and sugar are creamed together much better in the same amount of time, flour is incorporated much faster, sugar is completely dissolved in icings instead of having those little funky bits that didn't quite make it in, and flavorings don't "drip" down the side and get lost in the bottom. I haven't had it very long so I don't know how it will hold up over time, but frankly even if I have to buy a new one every year for my frequently-used mixer, I will still think it's a bargain.
so-so (4.0)
I wish it wasn't plastic, although it's held up fine with average use. I'm not sure I'd replace it if it broke.
worked perfectly (5.0)
My grown daughter requested this for her birthday. She makes lots of cakes and thought a beater that scraped the bowl automatically sounded great. My birthday is 2 weeks after hers and she used the beater for my bd cake. She said it worked perfectly and was really glad to have it. She doesn't have to stop the mixer to scrape the sides of the bowl any more.
Great attachment for multi-taskers (5.0)
I love this attachment. I don't need to scrape my bowl with a spatula when I use this blade, which allows me to focus on other tasks while my KitchenAid does all of the hard work. I can work alongside my mixer and peek in periodically to check the status whatever I am mixing. The blade seems cheap at first(it is plastic, instead of the nice metal ones that come with your mixer), but I've had mine for almost 3 years and never had a problem with it. It still feels sturdy, and I use my mixer fairly regularly. It could break tomorrow and I'd still feel I have gotten my money's worth out of it.
Beater Blade for KitchenAid 6-Qt Mixer (5.0)
This product really works and is my second time purchasing one. I had one for my first 5-quart tilt head KitchenAid mixer and when I upgraded to a 6-quart bowl lift I had to purchase a one for that mixer too! Just remember you might have to adjust the bowl lift mechanism on your mixer if it doesn't catch the bowl bottom. It continuously scrapes the sides of the bowl as its mixing and eliminates the need for you to stop the action and do it manually. I like that as that frees up my time to do other things like measure dry or liquiud ingredients and prep pans, etc. I think you'll love it too!
I couldn't beieve it! (5.0)
I honestly was very skeptical about this product, I've just heard similar claims for other products that barely made a difference. I don't like "upgrading" something I already have if it isn't worth it. However, I saw this had good reviews so I put it on my "Christmas list" and someone bought it for me. And to my delight, it actually worked. It scrapped the sides wonderfully. Normally when making icings or batters I would have to stop the machine, find my spatula and push the sides down, and even then some parts may mess up because it didn't blend correctly. But not with this. I just add what needs to be mixed continuously.
Seemed like a good idea. Disappointing in Reality (2.0)
I thought this would be a nice addition to my new KitchenAid Professional 600 Series mixer (Model KP26M1XCE). I am disappointed with what was delivered. I thought I was buying a blade made of metal. It is plastic. When I attached it to my mixer and started it up (at a slow speed) the blade would keep hanging up on the side of the bowl until the oscillating drive shaft swung around. It happened at the same spot with each pass of the drive shaft. I know that over time this strain on the plastic beater blade will cause it to fail. I am returning it and simply going to go back to scraping the bowl by hand.
Pass on this one! (2.0)
This beater does not scrape the sides of the bowl adequately I still had to periodically scrape the sides of my mixing bowl and it did not glide smoothly it would stick so I had to spray the beater and inside of the mixing bowl with non-stick spray before using and this only works for a few minutes before the problem resumed, nice concept but dose not really work.
SILICONE BEATER BLADE (5.0)
This is the best thing since the mixer was invented. I made 11 loves of banana bread and not once did I have to stop and scrape down sides of the bowl.
Can't live without it! (5.0)
I love this blade! It has a few flaws that I'm not wild about, but they're forgivable for what it does. The worst thing is that it squeaks against the bowl & loudly. The other thing I don't like is that ingredients get stuck in the groove where the rubber meets the plastic & they don't get mixed in. It isn't much, but I have to be careful not to dig in there too deeply when I scrape (or lick!) the blade. But it's such a huge time & elbow grease saver that I can ignore the downfalls.
finally (5.0)
I use my KA to make breads and pasta dough but I had stopped using it for cakes and cookies since I found that mixing the ingredients by hand was less time consuming than doing it with the KA. This tool is exactly what I was missing.
Nice Idea - lacks quality (1.0)
I ordered this because of the reviews I had seen and many other bakers' comments. The idea is great because it not only mixes, but scrapes the bowl as you mix. The issues I have is that it is made of cheap plastic. Mind you, my K-5 Kitchen Aid was bought 45 years ago. At that time it was still manufactured by Hobart. They have since sold it to another company whose quality is very poor. This paddle fits into the same category. After spending over $25 for this, I would have expected it to be manufactured of metal, like the original beaters and even the current beaters - of aluminum. Instead it is made of a light weight plastic. After spending that money on this thing, I seriously doubt it will hold up more than a year or two. In addition, the center shaft hole goes directly through to the bottom. This means whatever you are mixing gets up into the shaft. It's a real pain to clean properly. That means it is unsanitary to use. Save yourself the money. It's not worthy the cost. It's downright CHEAP.
Definitely worth the money (5.0)
This beater blade 'cleans' the side of the bowl exactly as advertised. It makes it so much easier since you don't have to stop and scrape. I'm not experienced enough to know if it makes the process much faster. Not having to scrape the bowl is worth the price alone IMO.
Performs as expected (4.0)
Item arrived quickly and we put it to the test several time with full satisfaction. Wish that Kitchen Aid would have thought of that design. Only small drawback is the price but with time you realize that it is worth the extra expense.
A "must have" for your KitchenAid (5.0)
My wife complained about the coating breaking off her KitchenAid beater. Searching through Amazon I came across this product and ordered one for the wife and each of my daughters. These were instant hits with all of the girls in my life and I have received rave reviews from each about the improvement this blade makes when they're cooking. My wife was thoroughly pleased and my daughters have abandoned the use of the original KitchenAid beaters in favor of the New Metro Design beater blades.
Metro Blade (5.0)
This is a replacement for a unit which broke. Greatly enhanced with the colored wiper. Fits bowl better than prior unit. Does a nice job mixing all the ingredients and not letting any get past the blade. Why didn't Kitchenaid come up with this improvement?
New Metro Design Beater Blade for KitchenAid Mixers (5.0)
This blade lives up to it's claims!! It cleans the sides of the bowl as it mixes. Therefore, you do not need to stop and use a spatula to get your mixture back to the bottom of the mixer bowl. It is very easy to clean and can be put on the top shelf of the dishwasher. I was pleasantly surprised how good this item is.
Great Product (4.0)
I love this product. I rated it 4 stars because the part that attaches to the beater is plastic and mine did crack. In all fairness, I used this product A LOT. I have a home baking business and my beater blade got a lot of use. Much more than a normal person that does not bake for a living. I got my money's worth and then some. So I have to buy another one, so what! It works great at scraping the bowl. I NEVER have to turn off the mixer to scrape. Now, you cannot use this for extremely heavy doughs. It works great with cake mixes, frosting's, fillings, cookie etc. I did also purchase the SIDE SWIPE blade because the part that attaches to the beater is metal. But the fins are EXTREMELY hard to clean off. I mean to get all of your batter off between the blades was difficult. Also the fins are breaking off. In Conclusion, I WILL be buying another Beater Blade, because of the ease of cleaning off my batter. It is much more user friendly than the Side Swipe
IT REALLY DESERVES ZERO STARS! (1.0)
I really wanted this product to do what is promised on their Amazon page and on their packaging & I thought this would be the answer to constantly having to stop my KitchenAid Artisan Mixer, pull up the head and scrape the bowl when mixing cookie dough, etc. It was NOT! I followed the instructions to move the head up so the beater blade wouldn't be crammed down into the bowl. That didn't work at all! It was still down too far into the bottom of the bowl and made a grinding, screeching noise. I returned it to Amazon for a refund. Only genuine KitchenAid blades work the best!
perfect (4.0)
I purchased this to use with my anniversary edition mixer...the one with the glass bowl. It fits & works quite well...scraping the bowl almost too well because with a heavy dough it will get stuck from time to time! I only wish that the attachment part was metal and not plastic considering the price paid!
If you have a KitchenAid mixer you NEED one! (5.0)
The first time I saw these advertised I knew I had to have one. I bought this yellow version as it is the professional quality that can take the extra abuse a lot of use can give it. They are available in every style for every KitchenAid mixer. It works as advertised! No more scraping the mixing bowl!
I like it (5.0)
I was a bit worried as my mixer is an older K5SS with no ability to adjust the bowl. But it worked perfectly. Definitely mixes much better than the standard paddle. Glad I bought it.
Metro Beater Blade (5.0)
Love it! Works great and no scraping. I had heard about this on NPR and it's all it's cracked up to be.
Loving the Beater Blade Pro! (5.0)
I am very happy so far with my Beater Blade Pro for the 6 quart model. I used it a few times so far and one time was with a thick cookie dough. I am enjoying not having to scrape down the bowl to incorporate the ingredients on the sides and very bottom of the bowl.
Ooops (1.0)
I have seen these units on-line for less than $10. The first one I bought at a kitchen supply store.....it broke. The next one I bought on-line for $11.....it broke. I paid $40 for this one, because the description indicated it wah "the Professional Model, and made of more durable material"......it broke. I think we may be done buying these now.
Great invention (5.0)
I was so tired of the kitchen aid steel blades I was using. The enamel kept chipping off so I knew I needed to try something different. This blade is great. It is sturdy plastic with rubber scrapers on the outside. I barely had to stop the mixer to get all the batter off the side of the bowl. I did it once while making a cheesecake but I didn't even need to. I would recommend this product, it's a great invention, I wish I would have thought of it!
Awesome product! (5.0)
This beater blade works great! I think I am going to purchase another to have as extra. My biggest problem with the standard beater that came with the mixer was that it didn't scrape the sides and there was always a little bit of unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. That is no longer a problem after using this.
It really scrapes the sides! (5.0)
It works really well for keeping things from sticking to the sides... I hate when flour won't combine without constant scraping and this solves it. My only concern is that it's made out of hard plastic with silicon scrapers I would have preferred metal like the one that comes with the mixer but so far it's stood up well under several months of moderate use.
Beater Blade (Pink) for 6-Quart KitchenAid (5.0)
I absoluely love this product. I was reluctant to purchase it because it didn't seem as though KitchenAid endorsed it but I wanted to try it based on "satisfied customer" reviews. I've had it about a year and have not used the standard paddle attachment since. I make a lot of cakes and cookies. I don't need to stop the mixer any more, get batter all over my hands and fingers or scrape anything down. The Beater Blade incorporates all batters and additions exceptionally well. The KitchenAid stand mixer is great, but with the addition of the Beater Blade I find I'm using the appliance more often and it's a more enjoyable experience. And Amazon had the best price!
Great Beater (5.0)
Purchased for wife, she is not a professional chef, but one h.ll of a cook. She enjoys the way it cleans the inside of the bowel when mixing, decreasing time scrapping the bowel with a spatula. Cleaning it was not a problem as mentioned by others. Be sure when purchasing, you get the one for your mixer, the adds can be deceiving.
Best accessory for my mixer - hands down! (5.0)
I've used this blade several times since I got it, mostly for mixing icing and cake batters. I am very satisfied with the performance of the blade. It is so nice not to have to scrape the icing or batter off the side of the bowl. The blade takes care of it! I know I've been getting a good mix because I've tinted the icing and it blends it very quickly. This was worth the money I paid for it. It's the best tool I've added to my cake baking equipment since I bought a stand mixer.
kitchen aid beater blade (5.0)
This is a great product. I was unhappy with my mixer because of the frequent need to scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing. This beater blade solves that problem & results in an even creamier texture with no unbeaten residue.
A Must-Have Kitchenaid Accessory (5.0)
We ordered the BeaterBlade Pro but received the standard version. Not to worry though, the folks at BeaterBlade promptly shipped us the correct blade. We used it for the first time tonight and I have to say, I'm impressed. The batter mixed up promptly with no areas of left unmixed. The mixer needed a little bit of adjustment to make the head low enough to properly scrape the bowl, but that was no trouble. You should heed the instructions and make SMALL adjustments because a little bit goes a long way. Another note; we used the shield that was included with our mixer and had no problem with a flower explosion as mentioned in reviews of the standard BeaterBlade.
Makes all the difference!!! (5.0)
I bought this product after being somewhat disappointed with the flat beater which came with the Kitchenaid. With the normal flat beater, I was having to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl several times during the mixing process for cakes and biscuits and almost felt let down after having desired my Kitchenaid for years before I could actually afford it! Well, within seconds of using my new beater blade I felt relief and excitement that the Kitchenaid was finally working as it should. This product scrapes the sides and bottom automatically producing lovely fluffy results. Highly recommended for anyone who bakes a lot.
Worth Buying (5.0)
I bought this beater blade as a gift for my daughter and she absolutely loves it! Does everything she had hoped.
Must have for any Kitchen Aid mixer! (5.0)
I was excited when I was finally able to get a Kitchen Aid mixer, and this was on of the accessories on my wish list shortly after.if you are making any kind of batter or icing it is definite must have, it scrapes the sides of the bowl perfectly every time, providing a much more through mix than the stock attachment. I don't know why Kitchen Aid doesn't include on of Metro's beaters with every mixer!
Works exactly as expected (4.0)
I have a bowl-lift 6 qt Pro line KitchenAid. This beater works great. There is really no need to scrape the bowl during mixing with a spatula any more. Cleanup is easy in the dishwasher since it's a coated beater. I've put my original beater blade into storage since getting this new one.
Works well with mod (2.0)
Works well but the bowl lift mixers do not have the spring that the tilt head mixers have and this effects the performance of this accessory. Without a spring to push the beater down it does not scrape the sides as clean as it should. I found a spring that fits and I'm now very happy with the performance. Kitchen Aid does not include the spring because it would be hard to keep clean. :P
Not a gimmick (5.0)
Purchased this item for my wife as a gift. She has used it already, to make cookies and icing. What she likes about the beater is that it scrapes the edge of the bowl, keeping it clean and thoroughly mixing the ingredients. This is a nice attachment for the Kitchenaid mixers.
Fall in love with your mixer again (5.0)
Wow, this new Beater Blade is fabulous! I have a 5.5 qt Cuisinart stand mixer, and with a little adjustment the blade works perfectly. No more little blob of unmixed dough on the bottom, the sides are wiped clean and ingredients mixed in well. Stopping often to scrape the sides/bottom down are now a thing of the past. It's fantastic!
NOT AS ADVERTISED (1.0)
Though it claims to be for several different brands of mixers, it certainly does not fit my Kenwood mixer. I followed the directions precisely, and it fell out. It is too small for the Kenwood 5 1/2 quart.
Great Accessory (5.0)
I have used this a few times now, making several batches of cookies and I am VERY pleased with it's performance. Without it I had to stop and scrape the bowl periodically which I found to be a pain; however with this gem I don't scape at all! It was very easy to adjust to the machine(Cuisinart)following the instructions. Dishwasher safe too! I can't speak to its' durability as I haven't had it too long.
Beater Blade disappointment (3.0)
The Beater Blade is OK but not the efficient bowl cleaner that I had hoped.
