Lasted about six months (2.0)
I got this as a replacement for the original beater blade, the one with the white enamel that peels off eventually. At any rate, I noticed today that the squeegee part of the blade had separated from the plastic body. Not good. It doesn't look repairable, so I'll be ordering the old style as a replacement. Yes, I made sure the blade wasn't making contact with the bowl. Good on ya if it works for you. So two stars because it works okay when intact, but durability is poor.
Great Beater Blade (5.0)
I bought the New Metro Design Beater Blade for my Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. I love the "metro" beater blade. For all we pay Kitchenaid, they should include this blade with the mixer!! It does a nice job of scraping the bowl. I have the 5 quart bowl that came with the mixer, and then bought a 3 quart bowl as well, for smaller jobs. This blade works with both bowls nicely. I would recommend it to all Kitchenaid mixer users.
Hello (4.0)
I would have liked to know that when you first start the mixer to be a low speed. If the mixer is too fast it will splatter some of the ingredients out of the bowl. For some reason, after all the ingredients are mixed there is always a small area on the beater that still has some dry ingredients on it. This beater does a nice job on cleaning the side of the bowl and mixing the ingredients. It is light weight and can also go in the dishwaher.
Not sturdy (4.0)
New Metro Design Beater Blade for 5-Quart KitchenAid Tilt-Head Mixers, WhiteAlthough the beater blade works very good it is not made very sturdy. I do not believe it is dishwasher safe. Definitely over priced.
Saves So much time (5.0)
This saves my wife so much time. She uses it just about every time she uses her mixer. Highly recommended to anyone who owns a kitchen aid mixer.
Great buy (5.0)
I bought this for my wife and after a little skepticism about using it, she fell in love with after the first use.
Beater Blade for 5 qt Kitchen Aid Mixers (3.0)
I misread and thought it was for my tilt head mixer, so it didn't fit and I had to return it.
Beater Blade (5.0)
My Mom bought me one for xmas and I love it...So we bought our daughter a mixer for xmas and this was to add to it, she loves it as well :)
not as good as sideswipe (1.0)
I recently bought a Kitchen Aid Pro 6 which I'd been lusting after for years. Expecting the problem of the five qt model to be resolved, I was disappointed to see this powerful beater slinging the contents of the bowl to the sides, repeatedly making me stop the bowl and scrape down again. I had a sideswipe beater blade for my 5 qt and it was great. Ordering the Beater Blade for my Pro 6 was a big mistake. I'm returning it and buying the Sideswipe because the BB is NO improvement over the blade that came with the 6 qt. If you want this problem solved, don't order this one. Hopefully the SS will work as well in the 6qt as it works in the 5 qt.
This blade does NOT fit all 5-quart KitchenAids (3.0)
I love the design of this blade, but it did not fit my 5-quart mixer. Amazon needs to update their product description to include the models that this blade fits. These are listed on the back of the beater blade's package. If I had seen the list in the product description, I'd have known not to order it and Amazon would have saved themselves the cost of shipping the return.
Kitchen Aid Mixer Beater (5.0)
I wish I had this beater years ago. I can not believe how wonderful it is to beat cakes, quick breads, muffins, etc. My biggest complaint of my 6quart mixer was that the beater did not touch the bottom of the bowl. I would have to stop the mixer and use a scraper on the sides and the bottom. It was just easier to use my hand mixer. Now I love my stand mixer and can prepare the recipe while it is mixing. It is so much easier. I am so glad my son sent me this as a Christmas gift. I like it so much, I ordered one as a gift for my best friend. Thank you for inventing this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it will last as long as I like the working performance.
Not as good as side swipe (1.0)
(It was pointed out to me that I posted this on the version for the 5 qt bowl when it should have been posted here. Thanks to the gracious individual who let me know about this mistake and sorry for the confusion...) I recently bought a Kitchen Aid Pro 6 which I'd been lusting after for years. If you want this...
Best Beater Blade Ever (5.0)
I bake a lot....after receiving the beater blade I can't imagine whipping up cakes without it!!
Bowl-lift model knocks bowl around. Tilt-head version is great, though (2.0)
I had the 4.5/5qt tilt head version and absolutely loved it. Worked perfectly. I bought the 6qt bowl lift version for my new mixer--and this one hits the side of the bowl so hard that the bowl almost falls off it's perch. Even if the bowl wasn't almost falling off, this model contacts the side of my bowl so hard I'm concerned about the motor in my mixer failing. I returned this item. So, if you have a tilt head model--go for it. But the bowl lift model scares me!

This is the BEST! If you have a stand mixer-- get it NOW! That's all I have to say...
Great invention (5.0)
I was so tired of the kitchen aid steel blades I was using. The enamel kept chipping off so I knew I needed to try something different. This blade is great. It is sturdy plastic with rubber scrapers on the outside. I barely had to stop the mixer to get all the batter off the side of the bowl. I did it once while making a cheesecake but I didn't even need to. I would recommend this product, it's a great invention, I wish I would have thought of it!
Awesome product! (5.0)
This beater blade works great! I think I am going to purchase another to have as extra. My biggest problem with the standard beater that came with the mixer was that it didn't scrape the sides and there was always a little bit of unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. That is no longer a problem after using this.
It really scrapes the sides! (5.0)
It works really well for keeping things from sticking to the sides... I hate when flour won't combine without constant scraping and this solves it. My only concern is that it's made out of hard plastic with silicon scrapers I would have preferred metal like the one that comes with the mixer but so far it's stood up well under several months of moderate use.
Beater Blade (Pink) for 6-Quart KitchenAid (5.0)
I absoluely love this product. I was reluctant to purchase it because it didn't seem as though KitchenAid endorsed it but I wanted to try it based on "satisfied customer" reviews. I've had it about a year and have not used the standard paddle attachment since. I make a lot of cakes and cookies. I don't need to stop the mixer any more, get batter all over my hands and fingers or scrape anything down. The Beater Blade incorporates all batters and additions exceptionally well. The KitchenAid stand mixer is great, but with the addition of the Beater Blade I find I'm using the appliance more often and it's a more enjoyable experience. And Amazon had the best price!
Great Beater (5.0)
Purchased for wife, she is not a professional chef, but one h.ll of a cook. She enjoys the way it cleans the inside of the bowel when mixing, decreasing time scrapping the bowel with a spatula. Cleaning it was not a problem as mentioned by others. Be sure when purchasing, you get the one for your mixer, the adds can be deceiving.
Works well with mod (2.0)
Works well but the bowl lift mixers do not have the spring that the tilt head mixers have and this effects the performance of this accessory. Without a spring to push the beater down it does not scrape the sides as clean as it should. I found a spring that fits and I'm now very happy with the performance. Kitchen Aid does not include the spring because it would be hard to keep clean. :P
Not a gimmick (5.0)
Purchased this item for my wife as a gift. She has used it already, to make cookies and icing. What she likes about the beater is that it scrapes the edge of the bowl, keeping it clean and thoroughly mixing the ingredients. This is a nice attachment for the Kitchenaid mixers.
Time saver (4.0)
I was surprised at how light weight it is but it works exactly as advertised without dragging or flexing. I failed to follow the instruction to check depth into the bowl before using for the first time. When I made cheesecake the sides of the bowl were perfectly scraped clean but there was a significant layer of cream cheese in the bottom of the bowl. By the time I noticed it I was too far into the recipe to try to cream it back in. It's a real time saver in cookie and cake recipies - as long as you follow instructions for first time set up! Definitely a worthwhile tool.
Beater Blade disappointment (3.0)
The Beater Blade is OK but not the efficient bowl cleaner that I had hoped.
A Must-Have Kitchenaid Accessory (5.0)
We ordered the BeaterBlade Pro but received the standard version. Not to worry though, the folks at BeaterBlade promptly shipped us the correct blade. We used it for the first time tonight and I have to say, I'm impressed. The batter mixed up promptly with no areas of left unmixed. The mixer needed a little bit of adjustment to make the head low enough to properly scrape the bowl, but that was no trouble. You should heed the instructions and make SMALL adjustments because a little bit goes a long way. Another note; we used the shield that was included with our mixer and had no problem with a flower explosion as mentioned in reviews of the standard BeaterBlade.
Makes all the difference!!! (5.0)
I bought this product after being somewhat disappointed with the flat beater which came with the Kitchenaid. With the normal flat beater, I was having to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl several times during the mixing process for cakes and biscuits and almost felt let down after having desired my Kitchenaid for years before I could actually afford it! Well, within seconds of using my new beater blade I felt relief and excitement that the Kitchenaid was finally working as it should. This product scrapes the sides and bottom automatically producing lovely fluffy results. Highly recommended for anyone who bakes a lot.
Metro Blade (5.0)
This is a replacement for a unit which broke. Greatly enhanced with the colored wiper. Fits bowl better than prior unit. Does a nice job mixing all the ingredients and not letting any get past the blade. Why didn't Kitchenaid come up with this improvement?
Ooops (1.0)
I have seen these units on-line for less than $10. The first one I bought at a kitchen supply store.....it broke. The next one I bought on-line for $11.....it broke. I paid $40 for this one, because the description indicated it wah "the Professional Model, and made of more durable material"......it broke. I think we may be done buying these now.
