Adult Bibb (5.0)
My Mom has alzheimers and we used kitchen aprons but they did not stop liquids. The Priva bibb is great. It is plenty large enough with terry cloth to absorb spills and plastic to keep it from going through to her clothes. Best of all you just throw it into the washer/dryer after the meal and it comes out ready to go again. I ordered two and went back for three more after I saw how good they perform and well the wear.
Excellent (5.0)
This is a large terry cloth bib with plastic backing. It is large enough to cover the average person's chest and lap, both in width and length. It washes very well, going through the dryer does not make it hard or brittle. Eventually we all need to have something to cover us when we eat sloppy food. I tired of trying to get the stains out, so I am using the preventative route. And it really works. Some people might think it would be humiliating to snap on a bib. But, in the privacy of our own home, we snap on a bib and eat spaghetti the way it was made to be eaten. It would be much more humiliating to leave the house with spaghetti stains all over us. Charlie and Allen need to get one of these for Jake.
A simple but excellent clothing cover (5.0)
This mealtime protector is excellent. It is much larger than one expects a "bib" to be. It covers the front from chin to lap and snaps easily around the neck. The terry cloth front is absorbant, and the soft plastic backing prevents moisture from penetrating to the clothing. The plastic backing is just thick enough to keep the protector in place without being too stiff. I was really pleased when I saw how easily the item laundered with other towels and similar items, and it looks as good as new after laundering.
Perfect Adult Bib (5.0)
I'm buying a second one! My mom is in her 90s. She's alert, fashionable, and sloppy. I was hesitant when I purchased this. I thought she might not like it, or worse, resent it. She loves it. It really saves the amount of laundry she has to do. As one reviewer noted, the neck has snaps and could prove difficult. At first she struggled a bit to snap it, now she just tosses it over her shoulders. I'm buying another for her. One I keep at my house, one I'll give her to keep at her house.
Good idea -- poor design (2.0)
This bib looks good in the picture but unfortunately the snaps that hold it in place will be too difficult for many elderly people to manipulate by themselves. An elderly adult with arthritis, tremors, other impaired small motor control, or dementia will likely need assistance to align the small metal snaps so that they close. A better design would have used velcro or some other method of securing the bib around the neck that would allow an impaired person to fasten the bib independently. The design of this product reflects an outdated mindset about adaptive clothing and suggests that the bib was designed for the convenience of the caregiver, not the convenience of the personal wearing it.
given as a gift (4.0)
I purchased this as a gift for my boss because she will invariably spill food on herself when she eats. I gave her the gift as a staff dinner, much to the amusement of everyone there. She was both surprised and pleased by the gift once she unwrapped it. It does fold very nicely and can fit comfortably in a side zipper pocket in a purse. It's attractive and as advertised the neck width is spacious.
What Should the Elite Wear to Eat? A Gold Lamé Bib! (5.0)
This is an excellent design constructed of high quality material. In the never-ending avoidance of spaghetti sauce splatter, juicy hamburger splash, and barbeque sauce spray, the gold lamé bib comes to the rescue! A problem with other bibs is bulk. Other bibs are beach towels and take more space than a change of clothes. The gold lamé bib folds to the size of a kerchief. A problem with other bibs is bib size. Other bibs have small neck openings that curl and climb up your neck (and stimulates itching), large breadth that curls onto itself and reduces protection, and poor length that either exposes your abdomen or touches the ground. Terry cloth bibs have hook and loop fasteners that do not extend beyond the terry cloth and make it hard close. Other bibs have a tiny bit of hook and loop fastener which limits the variability of the neck opening. (it chokes, or, it chokes.) The gold lamé bib has a good amount of hook and loop fastening material and a gathered neck which expands to fit comfortably around your neck and lays well. A problem with other bibs is human factors. Other bibs have poor neck openings. They choke or they fit so poorly that it distracts the diner. Other bibs have overly large sizes that are uncomfortable and distracting in a bad way. The gold lamé bib has a gathered semi-elastic opening with hook and loop material. The gold lamé bib spreads easily and rests gracefully upon your torso. The gold lamé bib is so light that you forget it's there. This is the best bib product for dining* that I have ever seen. I use it almost daily. (* non-convalescent dining)
Waterproof Bibb (5.0)
Purchased this item for my mom. Works well, looks pretty and coverage is good. Product shipped fast.
Perfect! (5.0)
I've always been kind of a slob anyway, and when I had brain surgery 10 years ago that led to partial paralysis of my mouth, I was not someone you wanted to be around at meal time. I don't own a shirt or pair of pants that is not stained. I tried using a toddler's bib, but it wasn't long enough and I ended up spattering food all over myself anyway. This bib (I guess the politically correct term is "clothing protector") is nice and long, covering me down to my knees (and I'm 6'1"). I got the blue terry bib, which is more macho. It washes very well, and you might want to wash it right away because mine had a particularly pungent "vinyl" smell (the smell disappeared after one washing and drying, though). It covers my shoulders as well, and I like the waterproof backing. A great purchase, and I'm going to buy a few more.
Priva Waterproof Mealtime Protector, Floral (1.0)
This item sucked. Very cheap looking and neck is VERY small. The add was VERY misleading!!!! It said 3 for $11.99. They charged me $11.99 each. I see that the add had changed now.I will never buy anything from Amazon again!!!! Priva Waterproof Mealtime Protector, Floral
Works great! (1.0)
I bought two of these for my wife. The flower design is pretty and goes with almost any outfit. The velcro makes them easy to put on and take off, and they function just as expected: the outer cloth layer absorbs liquids and the inner waterproof layer protects clothes. They are long enough to protect her lap, too, if spills run down. Product more than meets expectations, looks attractive, easy to use, and inexpensive.
Mealtime Protector (4.0)
The mealtime protector is great for my 88 years old mom. It is colorful, practical, and inexpensive. It is also easy for her to put on. The only change I would make is adding a pocket at the bottom so limited amounts of food fall on the floor.
Blue Terry Cloth Bib (5.0)
The Terry Cloth bib that I ordered from Amazon was a great buy. The bib shown online and as described on Amazon what exactly what we ordered. It works great because it is waterproof and washable, very important! It was also a better fit in terms of length, the adjustable velcro strap makes it easy to put on and take off. Thanks!
Great when you're messy (5.0)
This bibs are great looking and feel very comfortable. I purchased it for my father and he loved them so i had to buy a few more of these.
Great but a little narrow (4.0)
These are great bibs but are very narrow but long - if the person is very messy and a larger person it may not provide enough coverage. Easy to wash and dry and use over and over.
Present for hubby (4.0)
I bought these for my husband as a christmas present. He had wanted an adult style bib for some time as he is a messy eater and gets stains on his shirts. After bugging me for years I got him these. He liked them, although I think for his needs they could have been a little shorter.
we like them (5.0)
my husband like these. he had a stroke and needs extra protection from spils. the old towel bit was getting a little old and the dog got a lot of food that was dropped, so she does not lke them. they are nice and long and easy to wash.
CHEAP BUT GOOD (5.0)
I have used these bibs for years and they are great. Yes they are thin & in the beginning I had to learn to tie them "DELICATELY". If the ties would tear I would just tape them but they keep my dad dry and clean and the fact that I don't have to was his clothes after a meal and I can throw away the messy bib. It covers his entire torso, tummy and lap ares so it serves my purpose wel. The price is a deal for the amount that you get. If you can use the bib they give you in red lobster (equivalent thickness) then you can use these as well.
very helpful (5.0)
these are very helpful for me... in assisting with keeping my dad's clothes clean... instead of trying to tie it in the back, i just tuck it all in under the neck of his shirt.... keeps the dribbles from creeping down his neck..... and making a mess of everything....
cheap bibs (1.0)
Every time I went to tie a bib on.........one of the straps would tear off and I would have to staple it together. They are super thin and a piece of junk.
