It was very hard finding a deodorant without anti-perspirant. I had my lymph nodes removed from under my arms and tropical traditions was a god send. I was even told by someone in the know at Rite Aid to use powder. So,if you have or had breast cancer and your nodes were removed from under your arms use Tropical Traditions Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Aluminum-free deodorant.

I was looking for a stick that was aluminum free- I tried this one. I don't think I have a problem with body odor, but SERIOUSLY after 2 hrs I could already smell odor! What is that? And I have been using it for about 2 weeks. No problems here with pain, but I would rather have stained shirts that I can bleach than smell bad!!

Don't waste your money (1.0)

I was trying to find deodorant that did not have aluminum as one of the ingredients and this was the only one I could find. It does smell good (I got the lemongrass scent) but the next day my armpits were on fire and peeling, and after a couple hours you smell like body odor.

A good choice (5.0)

I have used this deodorant for about 8 years now, and its one of the best that I have found so far. However if you have never used it or any other natural deodorant before, it will take your body anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to get used to it. The time it takes for your body to get used to it is worth it however in my opinion. This stuff is amazing! I can put on 2 swipes each arm and it lasts me literally 20 hours - after so many years of use I have also found that you can sometimes - periodically - get away with skipping it one day. Not alot mind you - and that may have alot to do with my body type as well.
A great product in my opinion- well worth it.

Not so Green (3.0)

While Tom's of Maine claims to be a very Green company why is it a 2.5 ounce product comes in a four ounce non-refillable container? Since there is so little product the plastic shells end up in the recycle bin too often.

If Tom's really wanted to be a truly Green company they would offer refills so the plastic shell could be reused.

Worse than nothing (1.0)

I was searching for a non scented deodorant and thought this would be perfect. I tried it for two weeks before throwing it away. It burns the under arms and caused my skin to peal. It only works for about 6 hours, then I smell worse than without deodorant. I was to the point where I would have to reapply it at noon (I get up at 5am) and then take another shower when I got home at 6, then put it on again, and on again before bed. Give me a break! This stuff is garbage.

Great performance! Scent a little strong! (4.0)

This is probably one of the better natural deodorants I have come across in my quest for natural deodorants. Performance is stellar. If you have to reapply it doesn't leave you with that 'wet' feeling, any 'white' residue, and if you have any funk when you reapply this stick does a nice job at freshening you right back up!

Only con is that with my body chemistry the scent becomes overpowering, to the point where when I gave a friend a hug he asked "Why do you smell like a car air freshener???". To say the least I was embarrassed! It's just not a pleasant scent on me, it's all I can smell ALL DAY- it becomes a weird earthy 'car air freshener' scent. It is stronger then my perfume. I *WISH* they would come out with another scent, or maybe make this scent more lemon-y, something to tone down the lavender? Because I think it is the lavender that does not mix with my body chemistry well, but I love the performance so I won't knock the lavender, just wished it was mixed with more of a mellow citrus scent to take away the 'car air freshener' bite. I still use it, I just apply another deodorant over the top in attempts to mellow it out.

I've been using this deodorant for over a year. One stick lasts over 2 months. I've been vegan for 15+ years and have tried many, many vegan deo's and found this one to be the best!
