great product (4.0)
We use this product at our Veterinary Hospital. Really like this product as it works well on marble counter tops and does have too strong of an odor that lingers.
Ants hate this stuff! (4.0)
This is a good product for cleaning counters as are all of the products by Mrs. Meyers. The geranium scent is a little strong for me sometimes, especially after using it a lot and using other products with the scent. I have the cleanser and have used the hand soap in this fragrance in the past. But I buy it mainly for one thing: Red ants hate it! It must be something about the smell, but all I have to do to get rid of ants around my sink is to spray some of this stuff around their path. The kitchen cleanser works well too, just sprinkle a line of it and they won't cross it. I've even gone outdoors and sprayed this around the windows where I think they're coming in. It works well, and I don't have to worry about spraying toxic ant killers in the house, which I won't do because we have pets. Oh, and it's also a good cleaner!
smells like heaven--and it cleans (5.0)
I used Mrs. Meyer's for years, but due to an illness wthat leaves me housebound I've been unable to visit the one store in Omaha that sells it. On a whim I did a search on Amazon and learned, much to my delighted surprise, I can order it online! Whoo Whoo! The lemon verbena scent is my favorite. After cleaning, my whole house shines and smells wonderful.
not so green (2.0)
2.0 out of 5 stars not so green, March 12, 2008 By Jakob Oas I always thought these products looked the part of clean and natural, until they showed up in my house. They are very fragrance heavy, and being a person slightly sensitive to fragrance I started to notice it would make me a bit flushed and headachy. The countertop cleaner really bothered me most of all, because it would be on my food eating and prepping surfaces. The more I was around it the more it bothered me. I would even say it was overwhelming on my table while I ate and the fragrance got into the food when I used it on my butcher block. My wife also got the hand soap and having just used it I found that it too caused me some flushed feeling. So I decided I should share my experience. I have never written a product review before, but I've decided I find the claim of natural and "green" to be a bit misleading. These products truly bother me where most other average products do not, be they green or conventional.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! (5.0)
I absolutely love this cleaner. The smell is strong, but delicious. When I leave the house and come home, after cleaning the coffee table and countertops with this spray the night before, the smell of geraniums is the first thing I notice when I walk in the door, and I have a large lab (dog, not chemical) so I am very pleased. I just ordered the six pack from Amazon of this cleaner because I like it so much. I would recommend that you purchase one bottle to try it out first though, because the smell is strong, so I'd imagine that if you didn't like it, you would hate it. For example, I recieved a promotional bottle of Mrs.Meyers Lemon Verbena dish soap from a different website, and my husband and I did not like the smell of that at all. I used it anyway, but my husband said it was disgusting, and would not do the dishes until I bought a bottle of Palmolive for him (when he tried the Honeysuckle Dish Soap that is super hard to find, it was a different story). However, when I first got the geranium counter top cleaner and he got home from work, he walked into our room and asked, "What is that smell?" "What do you mean?" I asked, thinking he thought there was a bad smell and trying to play dumb about it since I liked the smell so much. "It smells good." He said. "Oh," I replied in relief, "It's the new counter top cleaner I bought." So here's the gist of this product: 1. It has a strong smell. It is probably to personal taste whether you like it or not. 2. It is family friendly, unless your family has sensitivities to the specific essential oils in the product, you shouldn't have to worry that you are spraying something toxic where your kids live. 3. It works! Some natural products are a disapointment, but this spray cuts through grease and grime better than traditional chemical sprays with bleach or ammonia. It even works dilluted. I have refilled the bottle with water halfway through it to stretch the product, and I haven't noticed a difference in cleaning power.
